Congratulations to Chelsea Glover of Clear Cuts salon in Nelson, who has been named the 2016 Joico Bridal Stylist of the Year!
Chelsea’s look was one of many impressive entries from up-and-coming stylists New Zealand-wide. As part of her prize, Chelsea will be flown to Auckland to join the Joico Hair Team at New Zealand Fashion Weekend on Sunday 28th August 2016.
Joico Australia and New Zealand education manger Duncan Richards says the win is well-deserved. “There was a number of stand-out entries, but Chelsea has got the public’s vote this year,” he said. “We love the soft, captivating look, that we’re sure brides will love.”
Chelsea, 19, will use her creative flair alongside some of the country’s best, to create stunning catwalk looks for the New Zealand Weddings Magazine Collection Show.
“I’m so excited!” she said from the Nelson salon this afternoon. “The experience I’ll gain at Fashion Week will be really good. I’ll be a bit nervous, but I’ll get to work alongside some really amazing people.”
Chelsea would love to be involved in more wedding hair styling, saying, “every bridal look can be different, and being part of someone’s wedding day is very special.”
You can read more about Chelsea in an upcoming issue of New Zealand Weddings magazine, but to see her and the Joico team’s styles first-hand, grab a ticket to the New Zealand Weddings Magazine Collection Show here.
Chelsea created her relaxed winning look using hair ties to create a loose pin-up, then softly twisted the side sections of hair neatly around the delicate flowers. The style was created using JoiMist Finishing Spray, Joico K-PAK Colour Therapy Restorative Styling Oil and Joico Super Shine Glossing Polish.
